Collagen biostimulators in Bogotá
Help the skin produce again · not just fill
Collagen biostimulators are injectables that activate fibroblasts so the skin produces its own collagen over months. They don’t aim for instant volume the way a filler does: they aim for firmness, density and better skin quality. At iki the product is chosen according to each person’s laxity, area and skin.

Collagen biostimulators are injectable substances, such as calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid, that prompt the skin to produce its own collagen. They progressively improve firmness, density and contour in mild to moderate skin laxity. At iki, in Bogotá, we work with Radiesse, HArmonyCa and Sculptra, and a physician chooses which one based on your consultation.

Collagen biostimulators in Bogotá · how they’re injected at iki
Each biostimulator behaves differently. The consultation decides which one, where and how much, and sometimes concludes that the problem is better solved with a device-based treatment or another injectable.
Consultation
The physician assesses the degree of laxity, skin quality, bone support and your history. They define whether the goal is contour, density or both, and choose the product in a written plan.
Preparation
Clinical photos, disinfection, and topical or local anesthesia depending on the area.
Injection
The product is placed in the indicated layer with a cannula or fine needle, in points or in a fan pattern, according to the technique each biostimulator requires.
Instructions and follow-up
Some products require massage at home over the following days. A follow-up is scheduled to review progress and, if the plan includes it, the next session.
What it offers
Radiesse
Calcium hydroxylapatite. It gives support when injected and stimulates collagen afterward. Indicated for the jawline, cheekbones and mild to moderate laxity.
HArmonyCa
Hyaluronic acid plus calcium hydroxylapatite in a single injectable. It combines support from the session with progressive firmness, especially in the midface.
Sculptra
Poly-L-lactic acid. It doesn’t add volume when injected: it builds density slowly, over several sessions. Useful when the skin has lost thickness diffusely.
Supporting regenerative treatments
Salmon PDRN, exosomes and platelet-rich plasma improve skin quality. They don’t replace a biostimulator, but they can complement it within the plan.
Technology with an indication
Injectable biostimulators
A biostimulator works like a temporary scaffold: the body recognizes it, responds with active fibroblasts and lays down new collagen around it, while the product is gradually reabsorbed. The difference from a hyaluronic acid filler is the goal. A filler restores volume at a specific point; a biostimulator improves the structure of the skin across the whole treated area.
Results and aftercare
The improvement is gradual: new collagen forms over weeks and months, so the change shows in firmness and density rather than volume. With Radiesse and HArmonyCa there is also visible support from the session. The effect usually lasts a long time, depending on the product, age and metabolism. A biostimulator doesn’t remove excess skin.
Aftercare after the session
- Intermittent cold compresses for the first few hours
- Massage at home only if the physician indicates it, as with Sculptra
- Avoid intense exercise, saunas and heat for 24–48 hours
- Don’t press on the area or have facial treatments during the first week
- Seek care right away if you notice intense pain or a change in skin color
- Daily sunscreen
Results vary from patient to patient.

What is a collagen biostimulator?
It’s an injectable that prompts the skin to produce its own collagen. The most widely used are calcium hydroxylapatite, found in Radiesse and HArmonyCa, and poly-L-lactic acid, found in Sculptra. They improve firmness and density progressively, and the product is reabsorbed over time.
What’s the difference between a biostimulator and a filler?
A hyaluronic acid filler restores volume at a specific point and the result shows from the session. A biostimulator works on the structure of the skin: it stimulates collagen and the change builds over months. Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved; biostimulators can’t. That’s why the indication matters more.
Which is better: Radiesse, HArmonyCa or Sculptra?
None is better in the abstract. Radiesse works well for contour and support. HArmonyCa combines the support of hyaluronic acid with the firmness of hydroxylapatite. Sculptra slowly builds density in skin that has lost thickness. The physician chooses based on the area, the laxity and what you expect.
How many sessions are needed?
With Radiesse or HArmonyCa one session is usually enough, sometimes with a booster months later. Sculptra is generally planned in several sessions a few weeks apart, because its effect builds up. The amount of product and number of sessions are set at your consultation.
When will I see results?
With Radiesse and HArmonyCa you’ll notice support when you leave, and firmness improves over the following months. With Sculptra the change is slower and becomes visible over several months. It’s not a treatment for an event next week.
How much does a collagen biostimulator cost in Bogotá?
The price depends on the product indicated, the number of syringes or vials each case requires, and whether it’s combined with another treatment. It’s given to you in writing at the free consultation, with the full plan and no surprises at checkout. Your consultation at iki is free · 45 minutes.
Who shouldn’t get a biostimulator?
They’re not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active infection in the area, uncontrolled autoimmune disease or a tendency to keloid scarring. They’re also not used in the lips or under the eyes. And when there is excess skin, no injectable replaces the surgical indication: we’ll tell you at your consultation.
Are PDRN or exosomes biostimulators?
They’re regenerative treatments that improve skin quality, hydration and texture. They don’t provide the structural support of Radiesse, HArmonyCa or Sculptra. At iki they’re used together with microneedling, Hydrapen or laser, and can complement a biostimulator within the same plan.
