Who it’s for · and who it isn’t

Indicated when

  • Dehydrated, rough or dull skin on the cheeks
  • Fine lines from dehydration, without marked laxity
  • Anyone who wants to improve skin quality without changing their face
  • A complement to botulinum toxin or biostimulators in an anti-aging plan

Not the right time if

  • Anyone seeking volume, contour or lift · the indication is a filler or a biostimulator
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Infection, active cold sores or inflammatory acne in the area
  • Allergy to the product’s components or previous reactions to hyaluronic acid

The physician makes the final indication at the consultation. Results vary from patient to patient.

What SKINVIVE (hydrating skin booster) treatment at iki looks like

The goal is skin quality. That’s why the amount of product is small and distribution is everything.

  1. Consultation

We review hydration, texture, laxity and previous treatments. If the main problem is volume or laxity, we explain that a skin booster isn’t the right tool.

  2. Choosing the skin booster

SKINVIVE, AH Volite or Hydrodeluxe · the physician chooses based on your skin, the area and whether one session or a series makes more sense.

  3. Microdroplet injection

After the skin is cleansed and disinfected, small amounts of hyaluronic acid are placed in the dermis, evenly distributed across the treatment area.

  4. Finish and follow-up

The skin is soothed and you receive written aftercare instructions. At follow-up we assess the response and whether a booster is needed.

What it offers

Hydrates from within

Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water in the dermis. Skin feels smoother and looks more radiant.

No volume

The amount per point is minimal and the product is fine. It doesn’t change your features or show like a filler.

Different from mesotherapy

Mesotherapy with NCTF uses free hyaluronic acid with nutrients, in a series. SKINVIVE uses a cross-linked hyaluronic acid that usually stays integrated in the skin longer, with fewer sessions.

Adds to other treatments

Alongside botulinum toxin, which treats expression, or biostimulators, which provide support, it completes a skin-quality plan.

SKINVIVE and hyaluronic acid skin boosters

SKINVIVE is a lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid, designed to be placed in microdroplets in the dermis to improve the skin’s hydration and smoothness. At iki we also use AH Volite and Hydrodeluxe as skin boosters. The physician chooses the product based on your skin and the goal, and in anti-aging plans it is often combined with botulinum toxin.

Results and aftercare

The bumps and redness of the first few days fade quickly. After that, skin usually feels more hydrated and smooth, and looks more radiant over the following weeks. The effect is gradual and lasts less than a volumizing filler, because the product is finer. Maintenance is decided at follow-up based on how your skin responds.

Aftercare after the session

  • No makeup and don’t touch the area for the first few hours
  • Avoid saunas, strong heat and vigorous exercise for 24 hours
  • Don’t massage the area unless the physician tells you to
  • Daily sunscreen and a gentle hydrating routine
  • Contact us if you notice increasing pain, warmth or a change in skin color

Results vary from patient to patient.

Frequently asked questions

What is a skin booster?

It’s an injectable treatment that places fine hyaluronic acid in microdroplets within the dermis to improve hydration, elasticity and radiance. Unlike a filler, it doesn’t aim for volume or to change your features. SKINVIVE is one of them · at iki we also use AH Volite and Hydrodeluxe.

Does SKINVIVE add volume or change my face?

No. The amount per point is small and the product is fine, so it doesn’t fill or change the shape of your face. Its effect is on skin quality: hydration, smoothness and radiance. If the goal is volume or contour, the indication is different, such as a filler or a biostimulator.

How many SKINVIVE sessions are needed?

Often one session is enough, and in some cases a booster is recommended after the follow-up. Other skin boosters are planned in a series. The number depends on the condition of your skin, the product chosen and your response, and is set at your consultation.

How long does SKINVIVE last?

It usually lasts several months, less than a volumizing filler because the product is finer. Duration depends on your skin, sun exposure, habits and each person’s metabolism, and there’s no fixed figure. At your follow-ups we decide when maintenance makes sense.

What’s the difference between SKINVIVE and hydrating mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy with NCTF combines free hyaluronic acid with vitamins and amino acids and is done in a series of 4 to 6 sessions. SKINVIVE uses a cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which usually stays integrated in the skin longer with fewer sessions. Both work on skin quality · the physician chooses based on the case.

Does the injection hurt?

You feel small pinpricks and slight pressure. Some of these products contain an anesthetic and, if needed, a topical anesthetic is applied first. Afterward there may be small bumps, redness or an occasional bruise, which usually fade within hours or a few days.

Can SKINVIVE be combined with Botox?

Yes, and it’s a common combination. Botulinum toxin softens expression lines and SKINVIVE improves hydration and texture: they treat different things. At iki there’s a plan that brings them together, and sometimes a biostimulator is added. The order and dates are set at your consultation.

How much does SKINVIVE cost in Bogotá?

It depends on the number of syringes, the product chosen and whether it’s combined with botulinum toxin or other treatments within the plan. The full price is given to you in writing at the free consultation, before you start. Your consultation at iki is free · 45 minutes.
