Facial cleansing in Bogotá

A cleansing that doesn’t hurt your skin · chosen for you

A deep facial cleansing removes sebum, dead cells and pore contents without harming the skin. At iki there is no one-size cleansing: a physician reviews your skin and decides whether you need a Hydrafacial, manual extraction, a gentle peel or a full Star Facial.

In short

A deep facial cleansing is a procedure that removes impurities, built-up sebum and blackheads, and leaves the skin ready to absorb hydration. At iki, in Bogotá, a physician reviews your skin first and chooses the format: Hydrafacial with suction extraction, careful manual extraction, a gentle peel or the Star Facial. It takes 30 to 90 minutes, and results vary from patient to patient.

Who it’s for · and who it isn’t

Indicated when

  • Blackheads, comedones and clogged pores
  • Oily or combination skin with uneven texture
  • Mild non-inflammatory acne, as part of a medical plan
  • Dull skin that needs to restart a care routine
  • Monthly maintenance between other treatments

Not the right time if

  • Inflammatory acne with pustules or cysts · extraction can make it worse and medical management comes first
  • Rosacea flare or active dermatitis · the skin is calmed first
  • Recent sunburn, wounds or active cold sores in the area
  • Anyone hoping to treat skin laxity or wrinkles with a cleansing · that is not what it does

The physician makes the final indication at the consultation. Results vary from patient to patient.

Facial cleansing in Bogotá · how we do it at iki

The difference from a mall facial lies in who decides and how extraction is done. At iki the cleansing is prescribed by a physician, adapted to your skin that day, and avoids the aggressive extraction that leaves marks.

  1. Medical skin review

We identify your skin type, whether there is active acne, rosacea or sensitivity, and which medications or actives you use at home. That determines the format.

  2. Cleansing and exfoliation

Removal of makeup and surface impurities, and gentle exfoliation to prepare the pore.

  3. Careful extraction

With Hydrafacial Elite suction, manual extraction or both. We extract what comes out without forcing it: squeezing too hard breaks capillaries and leaves dark marks.

  4. Gentle peel, if your skin tolerates it

A light acid helps decongest the pore and improve texture. It is skipped on reactive or irritated skin.

  5. Hydration and protection

Hydrating serums, calming care and sunscreen. At the end we set how often to repeat it and which routine to follow at home.

What it offers

Cleaner pores without marks

Extraction is done with judgment. What does not come out easily is not forced, so it leaves no dark marks or broken capillaries.

A format for your skin

Oily skin with blackheads does not need the same thing as sensitive skin. That is why there are several options, not one standard cleansing.

Your routine works better

With clear pores, the products you use at home absorb better and are better tolerated.

A medical filter

If something that needs treatment shows up during the review, such as inflammatory acne or a suspicious lesion, we tell you and point you in the right direction.

Technology with an indication

Hydrafacial Elite device used for deep facial cleansing at IKI Skin Experts

Hydrafacial Elite + manual extraction

Most cleansings at iki use the Hydrafacial Elite as a base: it cleanses, exfoliates and extracts with controlled-pressure vortex suction. When the skin has firmer comedones, manual extraction is added. For those who want a more complete experience, the Star Facial adds the Casmara rituals to the same device.

Results and aftercare

As you leave, your skin usually looks cleaner and more even, sometimes with mild redness that fades within a few hours. Pores look clearer, but a cleansing does not change their size in a lasting way. The effect holds with your home routine and sessions every 4 to 6 weeks. A cleansing does not treat inflammatory acne, hormonal pigmentation or skin laxity.

Aftercare after the session

  • No makeup for the rest of the day, ideally until the next day
  • Do not touch or squeeze the extracted areas
  • Daily sunscreen, even more so if a peel was done
  • Avoid sauna, steam, pools and direct sun for 24 hours
  • Pause exfoliants and retinoids at home for the days your physician indicates

Results vary from patient to patient.

Frequently asked questions

What does a deep facial cleansing at iki include?

A medical skin review, cleansing, exfoliation, careful extraction, a gentle peel if your skin tolerates it, hydration and sunscreen. Extraction can be done with Hydrafacial Elite suction, manually or both. The exact format is decided by your skin type and what we see that day.

What is the difference between a medical cleansing and a mall facial?

At iki it is prescribed and supervised by a medical team, who review your skin first and decide what to do and what not to do. Aggressive extraction is avoided, actives are chosen for your skin and, if something needs treatment, we guide you. A standard cleansing applies the same protocol to every skin.

What is the best facial cleansing for acne?

It depends on the type of acne. For comedones and blackheads, a cleansing with careful extraction and a mild acid usually helps. For inflammatory acne, with red bumps or cysts, extraction can make it worse: medical management comes first, and cleansing is added later as maintenance. The consultation decides.

How often should you get a facial cleansing?

For most skin, every 4 to 6 weeks, following the skin’s renewal cycle. Very oily skin may need a shorter interval at first. Doing it every week does not improve the result and can cause irritation. The physician adjusts the frequency based on how your skin responds.

How much does a facial cleansing cost in Bogotá?

The price depends on the format prescribed: a Hydrafacial, a Hydrafacial with additional manual extraction or the full Star Facial, and on whether there is a session plan. You receive it in writing at the free consultation, along with the recommended frequency. Your consultation at iki is free · 45 minutes.

Does extraction hurt?

Hydrafacial suction extraction feels like gentle vacuuming. Manual extraction can cause brief discomfort in areas with firm comedones, such as the nose and chin. If something does not come out easily, it is not forced. Mild redness may follow and usually fades within a few hours.

Does a facial cleansing close the pores?

It does not close them. Pore size depends on genetics, oiliness and skin firmness. A cleansing clears them and makes them look less noticeable for a while. For a more lasting change there are other treatments, such as peels or collagen-stimulating technologies, depending on your consultation.

Can I get a cleansing during pregnancy or while on isotretinoin?

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, yes, with the actives and peel adapted. On oral isotretinoin, or in the months after stopping it, the skin is more fragile: extraction and acids are avoided or postponed. Mention it when you book so the physician can choose the most prudent option.
