Hair loss treatment
Slow the loss first · build density after
Hair loss has several causes, and each one is treated differently. At iki we first understand why the hair is falling out, then choose the tool: hair mesotherapy, platelet-rich plasma, scalp care or, when it adds something, a genetic test. The honest goal is to slow the loss and gain density · not to get back everything that was lost.

Hair loss treatment at iki starts with a diagnosis: your medical history, a scalp exam with trichoscopy and, if needed, lab tests or a genetic test. Depending on the cause, we prescribe hair mesotherapy with dutasteride, minoxidil or NCTF, platelet-rich plasma or scalp care. In androgenetic alopecia the goal is to slow the loss and build density.

Who it’s for · and who it isn’t
Indicated when
- Early or intermediate androgenetic alopecia, in men or women
- Hair that looks thinner, with less volume at the crown, the temples or the part
- Hair loss linked to hormonal changes, once the cause has been studied
- Anyone who has tried treatments without results and wants a plan built on a diagnosis
- Patients willing to keep up a treatment over months, not weeks
Not the right time if
- Areas that have been completely bald for years · the follicle no longer responds and the indication is usually a hair transplant
- Patchy loss, scarring or intense scalp inflammation · it is studied and, if appropriate, referred
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding · several of these active ingredients aren’t used at this stage
- Recent shedding from stress or after childbirth that is already easing · sometimes the right call is to monitor, not inject
The physician makes the final indication at the consultation. Results vary from patient to patient.
What hair loss treatment looks like at iki
The cause decides the treatment. The plan is led by iki’s medical team, founded by Dr. Urbani, physician specialized in sensitive and reactive skin.
History and trichoscopy
We ask since when, how and where the hair is falling out, and examine the scalp and hair thickness with trichoscopy. That distinguishes androgenetic alopecia from shedding caused by stress or childbirth, from loss due to a nutritional deficiency or from a hormonal cause.
Tests when they add value
If your history suggests it, we order blood tests, for example iron or thyroid. TrichoTest, a genetic test, is suggested when it helps choose the active ingredient most likely to work · not for every patient.
Step-by-step plan
First the aim is to slow the loss. Then we work on density. We define which tool goes in each phase, how often, and when progress is assessed.
In-clinic sessions
Hair mesotherapy is applied with micro-injections into the scalp. Platelet-rich plasma is obtained from the patient’s own blood. Hydrafacial Keravive cleanses and hydrates the scalp as a complement.
Follow-up with photos
Clinical photographs are compared at each follow-up. If the response isn’t what we expected, the plan is adjusted instead of repeated.
What it offers
Diagnosis before treatment
Not all hair loss is androgenetic alopecia. Treating the right cause avoids months of pointless sessions.
Active ingredients delivered to the scalp
Mesotherapy delivers dutasteride, minoxidil or NCTF for hair directly to the area where the follicle is.
A regenerative option
Platelet-rich plasma uses growth factors from your own blood to support the follicle.
A plan that gets measured
Follow-up photos show whether the treatment is slowing the loss, so the next step is decided with data.
Technology with an indication
Hair mesotherapy, PRP and Hydrafacial Keravive
No machine solves hair loss · there is a protocol. Hair mesotherapy with dutasteride acts on the hormone that miniaturizes the follicle in androgenetic alopecia, minoxidil supports the growth phase and NCTF for hair provides vitamins and amino acids. Platelet-rich plasma and Keravive are added depending on the case.
Results and aftercare
Hair grows slowly, so changes do too. In androgenetic alopecia the first sign is usually more controlled shedding, around 3 months, followed by a gradual improvement in density and thickness. Androgenetic alopecia isn’t cured · it’s controlled, and if treatment stops, the loss tends to return. That’s why the plan includes maintenance.
Aftercare after the session
- Don’t wash your hair or use products on your scalp on the day of the session
- Avoid tight caps, pools and intense exercise for the first 24 hours
- Follow the at-home treatment exactly as your physician indicates, without stopping it on your own
- Protect your scalp from the sun with a hat or a loose cap
- Contact us if you notice pain, increasing redness or discharge in the area
Results vary from patient to patient.

Why does hair fall out?
The most common causes are androgenetic alopecia, which is genetic and hormonal in origin · shedding caused by stress, an illness or childbirth · loss due to a lack of iron or other nutrients · and hormonal disorders, such as thyroid conditions or polycystic ovary syndrome. Each is treated differently, which is why the diagnosis comes first.
Can androgenetic alopecia be cured?
No. It is a chronic, progressive condition · it isn’t cured, it’s controlled. Treatment can slow the loss and improve density, especially when it starts early. What it can’t do is bring back areas that have been bald for years: there, the follicle no longer responds.
How many sessions are needed?
It depends on the cause and the tool. Generally there is an initial series with sessions every few weeks and, depending on the response, you move to maintenance. The physician sets the number at the consultation and adjusts it at each photo follow-up, without repeating sessions that aren’t working.
Does hair mesotherapy hurt?
It feels like small pricks on the scalp. Most patients tolerate it well, and the session is short. Some areas, such as the front hairline and the crown, are more sensitive. There may be some tenderness or small injection marks that fade in one or two days.
What is TrichoTest for?
It’s a genetic test that analyzes variants related to alopecia and to the response to different active ingredients, such as minoxidil or those that act on the male hormone. It helps make a better-informed choice, especially if earlier treatments didn’t work. It isn’t mandatory, and the physician suggests it only when it adds something.
Does shedding after childbirth or from stress need treatment?
It often resolves on its own within a few months, once the trigger passes. In that case the right approach is to confirm the diagnosis, check for iron or other nutrient deficiencies and monitor. If the shedding uncovers underlying androgenetic alopecia, then a treatment plan is considered.
Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
We prefer to postpone it. Dutasteride and minoxidil aren’t used at this stage. Also, hair loss after childbirth is usually shedding that improves on its own. When breastfeeding ends, we do a new consultation and, if the loss persists, define the treatment plan.
How much does hair loss treatment cost?
It depends on the cause, the tools prescribed and how many sessions each phase needs. That’s why we don’t give a figure without examining your scalp. At the consultation, which is free and takes 45 minutes, you receive the diagnosis and a written plan with the full price of each phase.
