Laser hair removal
Less hair, session by session · no forever promises
At iki, laser hair removal is done with Splendor X, which combines two wavelengths to adapt to different skin and hair types. The result is progressive hair reduction, session by session. From the start, we explain what to expect and which factors, such as hormones, can change it.

Laser hair removal uses light energy absorbed by the pigment in the hair to weaken the follicle and slow its growth. At iki it is done with Splendor X, which emits Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers simultaneously to treat different skin types, in women and men. The result is progressive hair reduction, session by session; the plan usually starts with 6 to 8 sessions, and results vary from patient to patient.

What a laser hair removal session at iki looks like
The consultation sets the plan: areas, settings and number of sessions. After that, each session is adjusted to how your hair responds.
Consultation
We review your skin type (Fitzpatrick), the type and color of your hair, medications, sun exposure and hormonal history. If you have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or another hormonal condition, we explain from the start how it can change the result.
Preparation
You arrive with the area shaved the day before, clean, and free of creams or deodorant. You wear protective eyewear during the session.
Session with Splendor X
The device moves across the area with settings adjusted to your skin and hair, while Z-Cryo cooling protects the surface. Each pulse feels like brief, tolerable heat.
Between sessions
Over the following days, the treated hair sheds on its own. The next appointment is usually 45 to 60 days later; the interval and settings are adjusted to how you respond.
What it offers
Laser hair removal for many skin types
Combining Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lets us treat fair and darker skin by adjusting the energy, with a wider safety margin in higher skin types.
Progressive, measurable reduction
Each session reduces the amount and thickness of the hair. Progress is reviewed at every appointment.
Comfort during the session
Z-Cryo cooling chills the skin before, during and after each pulse to reduce the sensation of heat.
Less folliculitis and fewer ingrown hairs
Once you leave the razor and wax behind, the skin is usually less irritated.
Technology with an indication

Splendor X (Lumenis)
Splendor X emits two lasers simultaneously: Alexandrite (755 nm), highly effective on dark hair over fair skin, and Nd:YAG (1064 nm), which penetrates deeper and is gentler on darker skin. Its Blend X system lets us adjust the mix between the two, as well as pulse duration and energy, to each skin and each hair type. We chose it for that versatility and for its Z-Cryo cooling.
Results and aftercare
Hair reduction is progressive: after each session, less hair grows back, and it grows back finer. By the end of the initial plan, the usual outcome is a significant reduction, not the complete absence of hair, and some people need touch-ups over time. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), other hormonal changes and some medications can stimulate new hair growth and change the result.
Aftercare after the session
- Avoid direct sun on the area for at least one week and use sunscreen
- Moisturize the skin in the days after the session
- No waxing, tweezing or other methods that pull the hair out between sessions · shaving only
- Avoid intense exercise the day after the session
- Tell us about any new medication before your next appointment
Results vary from patient to patient. Laser hair removal reduces hair progressively; there is no guarantee that it won’t grow back.

Will the hair stop growing forever?
No laser can honestly promise that. Laser hair removal achieves progressive hair reduction, session by session: less hair, and finer. Over time, new hairs can appear because of hormonal changes, age or medications, and some people need touch-ups. Results vary from patient to patient.
Does laser hair removal with Splendor X hurt?
Each pulse feels like brief heat, more intense in sensitive areas such as the bikini line, underarms or upper lip. Z-Cryo cooling chills the skin before, during and after each pulse, which makes the session more tolerable. If the discomfort is high, we adjust the energy.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
The initial plan is usually set at 6 to 8 sessions, and there are 6-session packages per area. The real number depends on the area, the thickness and color of the hair, your skin type and the hormonal component. At the consultation we give you a realistic range. Your consultation at iki is free · 45 minutes.
What about polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)?
PCOS and other hormonal conditions stimulate new hair growth, especially on the face, neck and abdomen. The laser reduces existing hair but doesn’t correct the hormonal cause, so progress is usually slower and may require more sessions and touch-ups. We recommend medical management of the condition in parallel.
Does it work on dark or tanned skin?
Yes, with care. The Nd:YAG in Splendor X penetrates deeper and is gentler on skin with more pigment, which is why it can treat higher skin types. With a recent deep tan, we prefer to wait or adjust settings, because the risk of dark spots or burns goes up. We decide this at the consultation, not on the treatment table.
Can men get laser hair removal too?
Yes. We treat the beard, neck, back, chest, abdomen and other areas. On the beard, the laser is often used to define contours or reduce ingrown hairs rather than remove it completely. Male hair is usually thicker and denser, so the plan may need more sessions.
How do I prepare, and what aftercare do I follow?
Shave the area the day before, and arrive without creams or deodorant and without recent sun. Don’t wax or tweeze between sessions. Afterward, avoid direct sun for at least one week, use sunscreen, moisturize, and save intense exercise until after the following day. The treated hair falls out on its own.
Can I have laser hair removal while pregnant or on medication?
During pregnancy, we prefer to wait. Some medications, such as isotretinoin or certain antibiotics, make the skin more sensitive to light and require pausing or adjusting treatment. That’s why we review your medical history at the consultation and ask you to tell us about any change in medication between sessions.
